There are two majors categories of objects in the Handheld Designer runtime:
- Client object: These objects are typically created in Handheld Designer by dragging from the Object Palette and dropping onto a page. (In most cases they can also be created in code at runtime.) These objects can represent user-interface components such as buttons and text boxes, as well as non-visual objects like timers.
Server objects: These objects are available in server-side event
handlers such as
onPOST. They allow access to information about the HTTP request and response, provide the ability to store information associated with the user's session, and database access so you can store persistent data.
